Northern Ireland Kidney Patients' Association is a charitable voluntary organisation, dedicated to the support of Northern Ireland's kidney patients, their families and carers. Our association, which has almost 400 members, is self-funding and run by kidney patients, their relatives and friends.

NIKPA Supports Organ Donation
NIKPA at Castlecourt Shopping Centre (Belfast) helping to promote Organ Donation in Northern Ireland along with a number of other local charities. January 22nd, 2011.
New Life Donor Garden
On Friday 21st January the first sod was cut of the NEW LIFE DONOR GARDEN, KILTONGA , NEWTOWNARDS
The GARDEN is intended for Donor Families, Organ Recipients to visit and remember and give thanks to their Loved Ones and Donors wnd where those awaiting life transforming transplants can gain hope and strength.
The cutting of the sod ceremony was attended by Jim Shannon MP for Strangford, David McNarry MLA for Strangford, Dr Ed Rooney (Chair of Belfast Transplant Games 2011), Councillor Eamon Boyle SDLP, David Smyth Mayor of Newtownards, Leading Representatives of the NI Transplant Forum and Avril Waller, the mother of Lindsey who donated Lindseys Organs when Lindsey tragically died aged 17 years old.
It is hoped that the official opening of the GARDEN will be end of July when it will be in full blossom.
It is hoped that many of the of the competitors of the BELFAST BRITISH TRANSPLANT GAMES 2011 (4th August -7th August) will visit the GARDEN to give thanks to the Donors which enabled them to attend the Games.

Children's visit to Pantomime
On Saturday, January 15th, NIKPA were delighted to arrange a visit to the Pantomime at the Royal Opera House in Belfast for some very special VIPs. The VIP's in question were renal patients from the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. The kids and the parents had an unforgettable and magical experience enjoying the excellent performance. Thanks to all those who have supported NIKPA in being able to provide some fun for these children (and some of the adults!).
NIKPA Quiz Night
Thanks to everyone who supported the NIKPA quiz in the Armagh City Hotel on Sunday October 3rd. A great night was had by all and the evening raised over £300 for NIKPA funds. Thanks to Gina Moss and Neil Aiken for organising this event and those who donated prizes.
